SILK SCREEN WORKSHOP
We had the possibility to choose from different skills options this term, and I chose printing. The workshops are still happening, but I thought that I would post some samples of my experiments so far. Things are going to get hectic soon with formative assessments coming up!
PAINTING WORKSHOP
Here we experimented with projecting images onto a broken surface made out of different grounds and imagery. This piece was approximatly six feet high.
This was a painting constructed using differeent projected imagery to help build up the composition.
We also learn how to make a stencil and worked together as a group to made a temporary mural in one of the corridors in the college.
LIFE DRAWING
The idea was to experiment !
AND I thought that I was, until I went on the Irene Weingarter research project workshop!! I suggest that you look at her work as it is really interesting. The below drawings were the result of the days work.
It's all about creating a formula! Best not to try and work it out ?! It is about drawing oneself from the inside...

Studio Assessment.
The chalk on a string was left suspended so that there was room for others to interact with the piece. I was so happy that some of my uca cohorts rose to the challenge and I thought that Austins response added a dimention that I couldn't have anticipated. It was brilliant!

The draining board, or washing up!
I need to get a better picture of this one as it was taken in an end of term rush. It really is designed to be a wall piece but not much place to install it at the moment, infact I have to clear it away for our studio assessment this Thursday! I have added an image to the Burka painting which has so changed it in such a way that now I think that I am going to have to work over the whole surface again! Watch this space, it might lead to nothing!
