Resort Studios Christmas fair
I do like the atmosphere of markets and fairs and this one gave me the chance to do a couple of festive small pieces at giveaway Christmas prices.
And another linocut for my tree project. This one is a silver birch. It has been a two year break due to arthritis but I am now back on track. There is still a bit of cutting to do.
Travelling suitcase in Provence
It has been a while since my travelling suitcase exibition has has an outing. This time I took it to Provence and invited the inhabitance of a small town to interact with it. Adding objects if they so wished. It has expanded and now I have a second suitcase that I will start to introduce. It is exactly the same model and I look forward to expanding this project.
The first day of opening happened in semi darkness.

Then continued the following couple of days in day light ...
I couldn't resist adding a couple of new bits myself. To be used the next time it travels.

Open Studio
Doing open studios this year. Questioning 'Studio' as it no longer looks like one. The contents, that could be called mess and that are intrinsic to my creative process are now in my living room...
I am sharing my space with an artist friend Sarah Lancaster.

Beyond Reality
A rather late post with pictures of my installation for this exhibition. Installed in a given space on the day.

Preparing work for two new exhibitions
Working towards two exhibitions on on the same week has been interesting.
One is the result of work I have been doing regularily throughout the year during an initiative run by local artists. The title of the show comes from the name of our group DrawingAnd Beyond. We meet up and share skills, ideas and our working practices as well as our problems as artists. We are a small group of friends.
The other exhibition is with my Access 10 group. This group started when we left our access course in 2010. We all came from varied backgrounds. I was the only one that had already had a creative practice; firstly as a ceramic artist and pottter and then as a specialist primary school art teacher.
We first exhibited together in 2011 and you can see the work on one of my first posts on this blog. Beyond Reason is our fourth exhibition together. Our group has expanded and new members have joined us from our BA fine art cohort at UCA.
I am working on prints and collage for the DAB exhibition and the scale of the work is small.
For the Access 10 exhibition I am working on an installation with a fountain in it and also two prints.

Fishslab collective work in progress
It has been testing. Last year I signed up for the Fishslab collective not knowing that I would be having an operation. Bad timing ... so it has been adapting my kitchen to work on a couple of new prints. One of which is at the framers (unphotographed...) and the other one I am still working on.
I am also working on an instalation for this exhibition.

Rapid Response
Sometimes one just has to go for it. A local artist Trish Flynn was in the right place at the right time to take a cancelation slot in a wonderful space in Margate 'The Pie Factory'. I was invited to be part of an exhibition suitably titled 'Rapid Response' with fourteen other artists. This followed directly after the Deal exhibition. It was interesting to see my work in a very different environment. I was fortunate that the person who had brought one of my series of three prints permitted me to show the print that he had brought. so I could show them in the same sequence of three.
I also submitted three other prints including my kettle print which fitted the title Rapid Response.

So the prints are finished and the installation has been transported to the gallery. Will add an image of the framed works in situ and also the installation (including sack of potatoes) after the curator has finished and the PV is over. (now added)
