INSTRUCTIONS FOR ‘
THE TRAVELERS EXHIBITION’
Objects in the suitcase can be displaced and replaced to
create an on-going installation and changing narrative.
Each one of you is invited to choose an object from the
suitcase and install it in the room where the suitcase is located.
In order to do this you might want to use the hammer/stone
and a nail. You might want to use a hook already in place, or you might choose
a flat surface.
If the suitcase is empty, or if you prefer, you can alter
the location or position of an exhibit already on display, always remaining in
the room where the suitcase is located. You may also move the position of the
suitcase within the perimeters of the room.
If you are unsure which objects form part of The Traveller’s
Exhibition you can refer to the inventory located in the suitcase and at the
entrance to Crate.
Please use the white gloves when handling the prints, and
replace them in the suitcase after use.
Other artists may contribute to my travelling exhibition
during its outing at Crate, however works will have to:
·
Fit into the suitcase
·
Be labelled clearly stating the artists name,
also the venue and date that it was added to the collection.
·
Comply with HM customs rules.
Please
use the white gloves when handling the prints and replace them in the suitcase
after use.
THE EXHIBITION CONTINUES TO EVOLVE TOMORROW AT CRATE MARGATE, and then at the end of the day it all gets packed back into the suitcase (shelf and all) where it will travel to Mexico and France this year.
